About The Cornwall Quartet
The string quartet produces a rich, vibrant sound.
Originally from Cornwall, we each trained at leading conservatoires—the Royal College of Music in London and the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
Together, we bring a wealth of performing experience, from concert halls and recording studios to television appearances as backing strings for rock and pop bands, as well as performing at weddings and events across the UK and abroad.
We feel privileged to live in the stunning surroundings of Cornwall and can think of no more inspiring setting for a truly special event.
Wedding
When planning the music for your ceremony, we are typically asked to perform the following:
Background music while guests are taking their seats, beginning approximately 25 minutes before the ceremony starts
One piece for the processional
Two pieces during the signing of the register
One piece for the recessional
The above is intended as a guideline for a traditional order of events, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have something different in mind for your ceremony.
We are also happy to accompany hymns, although nothing quite beats the organ in its ability to lead a large congregation in song!

Can we choose all the music for our wedding ceremony?
Yes, you are very welcome to choose your ceremony music from our repertoire list, and we are happy to offer guidance if you would like assistance. We typically play around seven pieces of background music while guests are taking their seats. You may select these pieces yourself, or, if you prefer, you can leave the selection to us.
Can we choose all the music for our drinks reception?
We recommend that couples choose up to ten favourite pieces. From there, we are happy to curate the remainder of the playlist to perfectly suit the atmosphere and flow of the occasion.
Can you perform music that isn’t on your repertoire list?
Yes. If there is a particular piece you would like us to perform that is not currently on our repertoire list, please get in touch, as we can usually accommodate special requests. An additional fee may apply, depending on the availability of an existing string quartet arrangement.
If the piece has already been arranged for string quartet, the cost would typically cover the purchase of sheet music (approximately £15–£20). If a new arrangement is required, a composer’s fee would apply, usually around £70.00.
What happens if one of the musicians is ill or unavailable on the day?
We work with a pool of excellent professional musicians whom we regularly collaborate with, all of whom are highly experienced. In the event that one of our musicians is unavailable, we will arrange a suitable replacement to ensure the performance goes ahead as planned.
